Cavtat

Cavtat is a small village and likewise the most southern located coastal city in Croatia. This beautiful bay in the south of Dalmatia is especially known as holiday destination for visitors south of Dubrovnik. The small bay which is situated between two forested peninsulas is a great place to go for sun-seekers, water sportsmen and families. Its possible to walk round the peninsulas. Owners of yachts and sporting boats have also discovered the bay. For tourists who want to spend holidays in repose and recreation Cavtat is the right place.

The lakeside promenade of Cavtat is inviting for shopping or to have a glass wine or beer in the evening. The most popular building in Cavtat is church St. Nicola, built in the baroque style. Two of the altarpieces in this church show Dubrovnik and Cavtat with their patrons saint. In the „Rector‘s Palace“ originated in the 16th century, visitors can get information from the cities history and get to know the Croatian legal scholar Baltazar Bogisic, who has lived in Cavtat.
