Island Losinj
The island Losinj lies in the north of the Kvarner bay. It is liked especially because of her wealth of flowers and pines, but also because of her more than 2,500 solar hours per year. The neighbouring island Cres which is likewise liked with tourists very much can be reached about the narrow canal with a practicable rotary bridge.
The place Mali Losinj which is embedded in the bay of the Augustus is with about 9,000 inhabitants the biggest place of the island and at the same time economic centre and tourism centre. In Mali Losinj numerous places of interest from culture and history are to be discovered. The oldest building of Mali Losinj is the church of the saint Martin which comes already from the year 1450. Here the entire history of the city is written down. The small place Veli Losinj has lain very romantically in a sharp running up bay.
