Island Krk

The island Krk in the Kvarner bay is the biggest island of Adriatic and one of the most popular islands of Croatia. She offers a huge number of holiday possibilities which reaches from the walking about water sport. All the same whether one visits the island as an unaccompanied passenger or in the group, here everybody finds certainly something.
Since 1980 the island Krk more than two bridge curves is connected with the mainland. The biggest city of the island is a Krk city which lies in the geographical middle of the island. It is one of the most important tourist points. Visitors kidnap rest of Roman thermal baths as well as the city embankments in the past. The splendid central place of the city of Vela Placa as well as the Marien's basilica are the most important places of interest. The second largest place of the island is Punat which is liked in particular because of his long sandy beaches with vacationers. In summer yacht sportsmen use the harbour of the city. In the south Krks lies Baska. The place is surrounded by mountains and is lain in a picturesque bay. The place is estimated, above all, because of his varied travelling possibilities, but also to the two-kilometre-long gravel beach. In the west of the island one finds between Omisalij and Malinska the place Njivice. This place is rather small, but is still worth seeing. Archeologists have found here settlements from the antiquity. Likewise in the west there has lain Porat which has developed from the former fishing place and working-class place to the popular tourism place.
